The Millenisance: a Personal Renaissance of the New Millenium

What would it be like if we opened our eyes one day and found ourselves in a Renaissance? A rippling surge of creativity and innovation in a spectrum of fields, from science and visual art to mathematics and poetry. We have read about the renaissances of Europe and of Harlem in history books but what of the 21st century?
As I was contemplating on this, I heard a word in my mind: millenisance. I had never heard that word before and though it may or may not be my creation, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. What is a millenisance and how can I be a participant in it? The Millenisance is a renaissance for the New Millenium, a marriage of personal development, creativity and the digital world. We use these wonderful tools in a balanced way in order to further our mental, physical and spiritual expansion.
I personally believe that a Millensance is begun when we decide that we want to do what is best for ourselves by developing spiritual and mental power. When we believe in ourselves and work toward becoming enlightened people, renaissances will become greater and more frequent.
I have outlined the beginning of my Millenisance as a one year challenge. In this one year challenge, I plan to use a series of books and their assignments to evaluate where I am going and also to have a deeper understanding of myself. The main books that I will be using are:
The Last Year of Your Life: Personal Transformation Experience by Clint Arthur
Life Makeovers: 52 Practical and Inspiring Ways to Improve Your Life One Week at a Time by Cheryl Richardson
The Self-Care Solution: a Year of Becoming Happier, Healthier and Fitter- One Month at a Time by Jennifer Ashton, M.D., M.S.
52 Small Changes for the Mind by Brett Blumenthal

Each week of the 52 weeks will feature a post about the themes of the week, consistent with assignments from (with references included) or inspired by the books that are on my list. I know that this will be for some, the precursor to a great personal awakening. Inside of each of us, there is a Millenisance ready to begin. We are the Millenisance. We are the era.
